Time of release: Year of Planet Earth (YPE), IUGS initiative, 2007-2009. Sometime in 2008.
Target group: planners, managers, politicians, general public
Objectives: to provide a quick but scientific panorama of good practices in land management/planning where the geomorphological/earth science consultancy have been taken into account. To foster the curiosity and interest of planners to consult more and more with earth scientist/professionals. To provide economic overview (loos) of annual natural disasters and how much could be saved if a better planning is taken into consideration.
Authors: academics & professionals involved in these issues, economists, insurance agents, etc.
Style: easy to read (less jargon as possible) but scientifically sound; rich in pictures, charts, cartoons, animation, not too texts. Plenty of links to scientific and professional associations.
Lenght: <50 pages –ish
Support: A3, possibly on recycled paper + cd-rom + website (carbon neutral production?)
